I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your father! My prayers are with you and the rest of your family. I pray the peace of God has been guiding you in these difficult months! God bless you Dominique!
Hi Dominique, I just found out you kept entries here on the website, don't know where I've been! Anyway, that was an awesome slide show - I really enjoyed it, and it's nice to see what you've been up to. I TOTALLY agree about Carmen, too! I may not ever be able to see all the babies in Cleveland, but it's hard to imagine one cuter than her. :) And HUGE congratulations about the new addition to the Canales family!
You paid your dad a really nice tribute with the last portion, too - especially the quote you placed at the end. I was really sorry to hear about his passing, and I hope you're okay during this hard time. I recently went through a tough time with my dad, and though the situation was entirely different than what you went through in the past, your story - and reconciliation with him - was a big inspiration to me and helped me see the light at the end of the tunnel and resolve our differences. So I thank you for that, truly. And again, my condolences to you. All I can say is that I'm sure he was very proud of all that you've accomplished in your life.
This is already a really long comment, but I just have to add something off-topic...you were the one that inspired me to follow and enjoy gymnastics. I loved you as a kid when I watched the 1996 games, but was still to young to follow what was really going on - and about a year ago, your name just popped into my mind and I searched you on YouTube, haha. I think I watched every single one of your performances, and was just blown away by them. I've started really following the sport since then and have watched many more routines from other gymnasts, from the past and present, but something continues to stand out about your performances - your smile and your personality have made them more memorable to me, and all the more special. I want to thank you for being such an inspiration for all women, and for contributing so much to the sport. You have so many loyal fans who will always love you!
congrats on the new baby dominique! Thanks for sharing whats been going on in your life, and just remember there is nothing in life that you can't handle as long as you have friends and family. :)

I am a new member to your site, and I am one of your biggest fans. I think In my past life I was a gymnast!
I am so sorry to hear about your father, he some what reminds me of my dad, my dad tends to be misunderstood all the time... I was just wondering if you dont mind sharing with us how he past away at such young age.
Stay strong, and dont let the hormones get you emotianal I also know how that feels haha. You are trully an inspirtation.
